If anyone's been paying any attention lately, they'd notice that Modern Warfare 2 is coming out.  They're keeping a lot under wraps, but some has been leaked out.  The most appealing thing available is the video, so check that out first.

It looks like there are going to be some sweet Seal-type scuba missions as well as some winter-time snowmobile action.  In the next issue of Game Informer they talk about the addion of Riot Shields, more stealth, and the removal of the bane of every Call of Duty player's existence, near infinitely respawning enemies.  The developers say that they are going to work on removing this "crossing the invisible line" process to end spawning.  To me it seems like a relic of the ancient past of video games.  Nothing could be more annoying than shooting 300 terrorists coming out of a bunker just because you haven't had the opportunity to move up safely.  Another bit of improvement is that the single player will be both longer and more open ended.  I'm not sure how much more open ended it will end up, but any improvement will be welcomed.  It was strange running through the middle eastern-style villages down a single path because every other road is blocked by obstacles or a giant wall.  One final addition (as expected) there will be vehicles much like World at War.  The vehicle missions have always been fun in previous Call of Duty games and Modern Warfare's AC-130 mission is crazy fun despite being fairly short.

You'll also see in the video that there's been a graphical improvement.  CoD Modern Warfare looked pretty good.  World at War looked even better.  I am interested to see what details they put into this new engine.  I've always been impressed at how fast the Call of Duty engine runs even at high settings and still maintains exceptional textures.  I mean they do manage without a lot of physics elements that you see in games these days, but it still works out to be engrossing.  At the end of the video it says "May 24th, Eastern Conference Finals."  I assume this is talking about the NBA eastern conference finals since the commercial was originally aired during a playoff game.  I figure on this date they will release another commercial with video footage.  We'll find out on Sunday.  Until then I'll keep you updated on CoD Modern Warfare 2 info.

Edit:  Some new stuff... kind of... this was released.   It's not really much and it's even shorter, but it does show some riot shields and a lot of jumping.  Apparently you'll be jumping a lot in the game....

Update:  Turns out a real trailer was released.  The game looks pretty action packed.  It's like a movie trailer more than a game trailer.  I don't figure the game will be that action packed.  I'm sure they did the same thing with the origianl CoD4.  They make references to the end of the original and Infinity War said that Soap McTavish (the individual you played in the S.A.S.) would be in the game.  Maybe youll fight beside yourself from the past?  That would be interesting.  I'll keep this updated (and on the front page) if more information comes in.
