A very pretty show on the PS3, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves seems to be a pretty solid experience for the PS3. I don't know much about it and I definitely didn't play the original, but graphically it's one of the best things I've ever seen on the PS3. Check it out over here at Gametrailers.
The most obvious problem I can see in this game is that it looks exceptionally linear and scrtipastically scripted. Now, I have to admit there have been some exceptional linear games in the history of gaming, but I think we're coming in to a time in gaming where open-ended gameplay is becoming a standard. Replayability is also a big selling point and lineage rarely offers that. I have to draw similarities between Uncharted 2 and Crysis. Crysis was a beautiful game and I nearly gave my computer an anuerism trying to run it, but once it was over, I rarely played it again. I played multiplayer a bit, but ultimately stopped due to the ever increasing system demands (and I think a memory leak?). Regardless, I can't say I'd go back and play it any time soon given the fact that I'd never see anything new. The power of the PS3 has never really been disputed, but I don't think it's ever been put to use at this level before. The textures, the character models, and just the environments themselves are exceptional. Particle effects are crisp and it looks like even the smallest things are rendered in the physics engine I mean just take a look at all of the things flying around the room during the helicopter battle. In some other videos you can get a glimpse of the facial animations. They're pretty good by any standards, but personally I feel like the most recent Half Life 2 did a better job capturing emotions and projecting them realistically. End of the story is that this game looks like a nice action-adventure-shooter. I'm just not sure it will sell any more PS3s.
